Tahiti crake : ウィキペディア英語版 | Tahiti crake
The Tahiti crake (''Porzana nigra''), also known as Miller's rail, was a species of bird in the family Rallidae. It was endemic to Tahiti. It was discovered and painted by Georg Forster during the second Cook voyage.〔Walters, M: ''Probable validity of Rallus nigra Miller, an extinct species from Tahiti''. In: Notornis. Journal of the Ornithological Society of New Zealand''. Volume 35 Part 4 December 1988.〕 John Frederick Miller copied Forsters painting and published it with some changes and remarks in his work Cimelia Physica in 1784.〔 ==References==
